Are you licensed, insured, and bonded?
Are you licensed, insured, and bonded?
Short answerYes — HyTech Roofing Solutions holds Massachusetts HIC (Home Improvement Contractor) and CSL (Construction Supervisor) licenses, is fully insured, and is OSHA certified.

The two licenses needed to do roofing in Massachusetts are:

  • HIC License (Home Improvement Contractor) — registered with the MA Office of Consumer Affairs.
  • CSL License (Construction Supervisor License) — required for structural work.

We also carry general liability and workers' compensation insurance, and our crews follow OSHA fall-protection standards on every job.

Do I get a warranty after the job is complete?
Do I get a warranty after the job is complete?
Short answerYes — every new HyTech roof comes with a certified manufacturer's warranty (lifetime on most CertainTeed shingles), plus our own 20-year personal labor guarantee.

You'll receive a certified copy of your warranty mailed directly from CertainTeed. HyTech is a CertainTeed 5-Star Select Shingle Master — the top installer tier — which is required to issue extended manufacturer warranties like Sure Start™ Plus. Every employee also undergoes ongoing training and holds individual certifications in their name.

On qualifying NorthGate ClimateFlex, Landmark PRO, and designer shingle installs with the full Integrity Roof System®, we add our own Lifetime Workmanship Guarantee at no extra cost.

Do I need to protect my deck, lawn, and garden beds?
Do I need to protect my deck, lawn, and garden beds?
Short answerNo — you don't need to lift a finger. Our crew moves delicate items before the job starts and our heavy-duty mesh tarps shield your entire property from falling debris.

We move any delicate or fragile items away from the house before work begins and replace them exactly where they were when we finish.

Our extra-large heavy-duty mesh canvas tarps protect the perimeter and direct all debris away from the house — keeping garden beds, shrubs, and flowers untouched.

How will you clean up the debris?
How will you clean up the debris?
Short answerWe use our own hydraulic dump trailers — wheeled, non-invasive units that won't sink into your driveway or lawn the way roll-off dumpsters do.

Each trailer rolls on four wheels and maneuvers easily on residential lots. The ground crew works in parallel with installers, so cleanup happens continuously through the day — not as an afterthought at the end.

How do you pick up all of the nails?
How do you pick up all of the nails?
Short answerWith industrial sweeper magnets — large rolling magnets on wheels for the lawn and driveway, plus hand-wand magnets for behind bushes and hard-to-reach areas.

These magnets capture any nails or staples in their path. We do multiple sweeps before leaving — driveway, walkways, lawn, and the perimeter of the house — until the property is so clean you'd never know a roof was just torn off.

How many nails do you use per shingle?
How many nails do you use per shingle?
Short answerSix nails per shingle, always — placed in the Hurricane nail line, the only spot on the shingle where the thickness is doubled. Six nails unlock the full high-wind warranty (130–160 mph) on CertainTeed shingles.

The only thing more important than how many nails are used is where they're placed. Most roofers place nails in the "wide nail line" — HyTech goes one step further and nails into the Hurricane nail line, the reinforced double-thick zone on each shingle. It's the only line our crews are trained to nail into, regardless of roof pitch.

How long does a typical roof replacement take?
Short answerMost Cape Cod residential roof replacements take 1–3 days, depending on size, pitch, and complexity. Commercial flat roofs typically take 1–6 weeks.

A standard 18–25 square ranch with a single-layer tear-off is usually a one-day job. Larger Capes and Colonials (28–45 squares) generally take 2–3 days. We provide a written timeline as part of every free quote.

Do you offer financing?
Short answerYes — we partner with several reputable home-improvement financing companies offering competitive rates and flexible terms.

Financing options include 0% promotional periods, fixed-term loans, and HELOC integrations. Ask us during your free consultation and we'll match you with the best current program for your project size and credit profile.

What areas of Cape Cod do you service?
Short answerAll of Cape Cod — Yarmouth Port, Dennis, Barnstable, Hyannis, Falmouth, Mashpee, Sandwich, Bourne, Harwich, Brewster, Chatham, Orleans, Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro, and Provincetown.

Our headquarters is at 714A Route 6A in Yarmouth Port, MA 02675 — central to the entire Cape, which means short response times anywhere from the canal to the Outer Cape. We also handle a handful of off-Cape projects in the surrounding South Shore by request.

Can I get a quote without an in-person visit?
Short answerYes — for small jobs. Send photos and rough measurements and we'll provide a ballpark estimate. For accurate final quotes we recommend a free in-home consultation.

An in-home visit lets us measure precisely, walk the roof (or fly the drone), photograph problem areas, and check ventilation and decking condition. That's the only way to deliver a guaranteed written price — and it's always free with no obligation.

How much does a new roof cost on Cape Cod?
Short answerA typical Cape Cod asphalt roof replacement runs roughly $9,000–$25,000+, depending on roof size, shingle grade, tear-off complexity, and pitch. Cedar and DaVinci synthetic roofs are higher.

Rough Cape Cod pricing as of 2026: Landmark ~$5.50/sq ft, Landmark PRO ~$6.25/sq ft, NorthGate ClimateFlex ~$7.40/sq ft installed. A square = 100 sq ft. Add 15–35% for double-layer tear-offs, steep pitches, or complex roofs with skylights and dormers. We always quote in writing for free — try the live estimator on our shingles page.

What's the difference between Landmark, Landmark PRO, and NorthGate ClimateFlex?
Short answerLandmark is the standard lifetime shingle (Class 3 impact, 10-yr StreakFighter). Landmark PRO adds Max Def color and 30-yr StreakFighter. NorthGate ClimateFlex is the top tier — SBS rubberized asphalt, Class 4 impact, stays flexible in the cold.

For coastal homes exposed to salt air and ice — anywhere on the water or near the Outer Cape — we strongly recommend NorthGate ClimateFlex for its impact rating and SBS flexibility. See the full breakdown on our shingle comparison page.

Are HyTech crews owner-supervised?
Short answerYes — Patrick Clifford and Alex Yaskavets personally supervise every job. We're a true team of working roofers, not a sales office that subcontracts the install.

HyTech is owned and operated by two roofers with 40+ combined years of experience. Our policy is unusual in the industry: the owners are on-site, hands-on, and accountable for the work. This is why our customers see the same crew from start to finish.
